Description of a Master Valve
A Master Valve is used to protect the landscape from flooding in case of a ruptured main or malfunctioning downstream valve. The master valve is installed on the mainline after the backflow preventer (in some systems).
MAGIC RAIN, however, installs the Master Valve in your Manifold Box. We prefer the location of warmer temperatures below ground, rather than above, in the event the transpiration were to take place during our Northern Ohio winter months.
Typically, if an outside BACKFLOW DEVICE is used, it is placed, inconspeciously, on the side of the house. We feel that this may provide your system with longer protection the event that someone may not be around to notice a problem right away.
